Robert S. Hale, a pioneer resident and citizen of Montana, died in San Diego, California, July 31, 1922, at an age of over eighty-five years. He left considerable estate in Montana, and none but collateral heirs surviving him. He was an old bachelor, and a unique and positive character. He was set in his ways and strong-minded in all business and social relations with mankind. It was not easy for anyone to in fluence him respecting his decision in any matter, and up to the time of his death his mentality was unusually strong and vigorous for a man of his years.
