In the district court for Sarpy County, William O. Williams, personal representative of the estate of Kari L. Williams, brought a wrongful death action against Monarch Transportation, Inc., regarding a collision between an automobile driven by Kari L. Williams and a truck owned and operated by Monarch. The collision resulted in Kari’s hospitalization and eventual death on October 14, 1987. After Monarch admitted liability for the collision and Kari’s death, only the question of damages was submitted to the jury, which awarded $15,804.46 for Kari’s hospital and funeral expenses and $250,000…
