— In an action to recover damages for personal injuries, etc., the defendant appeals from a judgment of the Supreme Court, Kings County (Krausman, J.), entered July 12, 1990, which, upon a jury verdict finding the defendant at fault in the happening of the accident, is in favor of the plaintiffs and against him in the principal sum of $525,000.

Ordered that the judgment is reversed, as an exercise of discretion, without costs or disbursements, and a new trial is granted on the issue of damages only, unless within twenty (20) days after service upon the plaintiffs of a copy of this decision and…
