The Banking Law [Cons. Laws, ch. 2] provides that the Superintendent of Banks, after taking possession of the business and assets of a delinquent banking corporation, shall notify all creditors to present their claims to him within four months from the date of such notice, at a specified time and place. (Banking Law, § 72.) “ He shall cause said notice to be mailed to all persons whose names appear as creditors upon the books of the corporation, banker or broker.” (Id.)
