CADENA, Justice.

Plaintiff, Lorraine McDonald, filed this suit to recover from defendant, Wesley Savoy, d/b/a Wes Savoy Motors, statutory penalties because of defendant’s failure to comply with state and federal regulations governing credit transactions.

The Texas statutes involved are popularly known as the Texas Consumer Credit Code (Subtitle 2 of Title 79, Tex.Rev.Civ. Stat.Ann.), particularly Chapter 7 (Articles 5069-7.01 through 5069-7.10, Tex.Rev.Civ. Stat.Ann.) which regulates the installment sales of motor vehicles.
