The within case is an appeal to the court from the action of the defendant board in dismissing the plaintiff from the police force of the city of Torrington.

The board of public safety of the city of Torrington, the defendant herein, was created by virtue of an amendment to the city's charter enacted in 1935. 22 Spec. Laws 196; Tremp v. Patten, 132 Conn. 120,122.
