1. The general prohibition law of 1907 (Acts of 1907, p. 81) repeals all existing laws allowing the sale .of intoxicating liquors in this State, the repeal taking effect from and after January 1, 1908. Consequently one who on January 7, 1908, may have sold intoxicating liquors can not be legally convicted under an accusation charging the statutory" offense of retailing without a license, in a county in which prior to January 1, 1908, whisky and other intoxicating liquors might legally have been sold upon obtaining a license.
