STORCKMAN, Judge.
A jury found the defendant William Clyde Lewis guilty of robbery in the first degree and fixed his punishment at fifty years in the custody of the Department of Corrections. The defendant was represented by court-appointed counsel. At the close of the state’s case he sought to dismiss his counsel, but at the trial court’s request counsel remained available for consultation with the defendant during the remainder of the trial.
