Petitioner initiated this, an original proceeding, by the filing of an application for a writ of habeas corpus. Subsequently, he requested that he be afforded counsel to assist him in the presentation of his cause. Pursuant to such request Glenn D. Cogswell, a capable and reputable member of the bar of this state, was appointed as petitioner’s attorney.
