POSNER, Circuit Judge.

This appeal raises questions relating to an indigent defendant’s right to counsel of his choice, and to appellate review of the length of a sentence that is within statutory limits.

David Ely was indicted in 1979 along with two other men, Dawson and Griswold, for distributing and conspiring to distribute cocaine, in violation of 21 U.S.C. §§ 841(a)(1), 846. Ely was an intermediate distributor, Dawson his source, and Gris-wold a dealer whom Ely supplied with cocaine that he obtained from Dawson.
