DIES, Chief Justice.

Appellees are in the business of furnishing equipment and other services for oil and gas wells. They sued Appellant for about $600,000 alleging Appellant owed for labor and materials furnished by Appellees. An affidavit of Appellees’ president was attached to the petition stating, inter alia, that the sums stated are due and owing and that all just and lawful offsets, payments and credits have been allowed, pursuant to TEX.R.CIV.P. 185.
