This action was brought to recover the balance-alleged to be due and owing from the defendants, who were stock brokers in the city of 27ew York. The plaintiff resided in the city of Hartford, and on the 23d of July, 1883, engaged the defendants in 27ew York to buy 100 shares of Hnion Pacific stock, and paid thereon the sum of $1,000. The stock was purchased by the defendants in -their own name for the sum of $9,300, and subsequently and on the seventeenth day of December of the same year the plaintiff ordered a sale of the stock, and the same was made for the sum of $7,375.
