This appeal involves the application of the requirements of Supreme Court Rule 604(d) (145 Ill. 2d R. 604(d)) when a defendant who has pleaded guilty subsequently appeals his conviction or sentence. Defendant requests us to determine whether the appellate court in the case at bar departed from this court’s prior ruling requiring strict compliance with that portion of Rule 604(d) which pertains to furnishing the attorney certificate.
