Sidney Gabbard was tried and convicted of the murder of Farris Gilbert, and given a life sentence in the State penitentiary. The offense was committed at a country voting precinct on Buffalo Creek in Owsley County at the August primary election, 1913. He was tried at a special term of court in January of this year. The indictment contains three counts. The first charges that the appellant, together with his father, Elisha Gab-bard, and his brothers Daniel, Elijah and Michael (Bud), and his nephew, Riley Gabbard, conspired and banded themselves…
