MOORE, Justice:

We accepted this interlocutory appeal from the Superior Court to consider whether an automobile insurer must defend and indemnify its insured, who intentionally or recklessly caused a collision that injured an innocent passenger riding in the vehicle with the insured. The appellant, Rachel Hudson, claims that she was injured while a passenger in a truck driven by her former husband, Louis C. Hudson, who drove off the road in an attempt to injure her.
