ZARELLA, J.
A jury found the defendant, Caxvaughn Johnson, guilty of murder in violation of General Statutes § 53a-54a (a), 1 and carrying a pistol without a permit in violation of General Statutes § 29-35. 2 The trial court rendered judgment in accordance with the verdict, and the defendant appealed to this court. 3 The defendant seeks a new trial on the basis of his claims that the trial court improperly (1) concluded that he had not proven actual prejudice resulting from the influence of courtroom spectators on the jury’s deliberations and its assessment of the witnesses’…
