The two issues presented by this appeal are:(1) Did the order for new trial in the interest of justice comply with the requirements of sec. 270.49 (2), Stats. 1961?(2) Should the trial court have granted defendant Insurance Company’s motions for directed verdict and judgment notwithstanding the verdict?

Failure of Order to Comply with Statutory Requirements.

Sec, 270.49 (2), Stats., as amended by ch. 494, Laws of 1961, provides in part as follows:

“No order granting a new trial in the interest of justice shall be valid or effective, unless the reasons that prompted the court to make such order…
