In this case, the government appeals from the district court’s granting of a motion for judgment of acquittal after the jury had returned a verdict of guilty. Defendant was tried before the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida for one count each of a violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1622, 1 subornation of perjury, 18 U.S.C. § 1503, 2 obstruction of justice, and 18 U.S.C. § 371, 3 conspiracy. At the close of the government’s case, defendant moved for judgment of acquittal pursuant to Rule 29, Fed.R.Crim.P. The district court reserved decision…
