In January, 1837, Chandler and Robertson entered into a written agreement, whereby the former, a resident of Mason county, agreed to deliver to the latter, five hundred hogs, of designated weight and quality, between the 10th and 25th of October following—“optionary with the purchaser;” for which Robertson agreed to pay a stipulated price per hundred pounds.
