The defendant, Robert R. Jackson, was charged by bill of information with one count of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, a violation of La.R.S. 40:966; two counts of possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS), a violation of La.R.S. 40:967; one count of possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to use, a violation of La.R.S. 40:1033 on July 12, 1994; and one count of knowing and intentional receipt or acquisition of proceeds derived from violation of the Controlled Dangerous Substances law, in violation of La.R.S. 40:1049(D).
