James Alexander Pine, Jr., a member of the Bar of this Court, was convicted in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland of violating 18 U.S.C. §§ 1341 and 2 (mail fraud, aiding and abetting). Promptly thereafter, Bar Counsel, acting on behalf of the Attorney Grievance Commission of Maryland, moved under Maryland Rule BV16 for Pine’s suspension from the practice of law. We suspended him on January 5, 1979. Bar Counsel filed a petition for disciplinary action when that conviction was affirmed by the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
