This appeal involves a dispute over back pay between Shelby State Community College and its Dean of Student Affairs. After the college president reinstated him approximately three years following his termination, the dean filed a petition under the Tennessee Uniform Administrative Procedures Act in the Chancery Court for Davidson County seeking back pay. The trial court conducted a bench trial and concluded that the dean was entitled to back pay.
