The plaintiffs, Signal Oil & Gas Company, Louisiana Land and Exploration Company, Amerada Hess Corporation and Marathon Oil Company (hereinafter referred to as “SLAM”) initiated this admiralty action to recover damages sustained by a pipeline in which the SLAM group owns a 90% interest.
