The plaintiff, Leon Waters, filed suit for damages for injuries sustained on a Regional Transit Authority (“RTA”) bus when the bus came to an abrupt stop to avoid hitting a preceding vehicle. Following a bench trial, the trial court awarded $695,544.27 in damages in favor of Mr. Waters and against RTA; Veolia Transportation Services, Inc.
