Justice FLAHERTY,

for the Court.

The defendant, Pedro Muriel Reyes, was convicted of second-degree murder, discharging a firearm during the commission of a crime of violence resulting in the death of another, and the unlicensed possession of a firearm. He was sentenced to two consecutive life-sentence terms, as well as a concurrent ten-year sentence for the unlicensed possession of a firearm.
