QUINN, Chief Justice.

In this interlocutory appeal, the People challenge an order suppressing a stereo unit and other items seized from the passenger compartment of an automobile during an investigatory stop and detention of the occupants of the automobile, a postar-rest confession made by one of the defendants, and a stolen gearshift knob taken from the other defendant after his arrest.
