In this case, six employees of New York's Department of Homeless Services ("DHS") ("plaintiffs") filed suit against the City of New York (the "City") for alleged *541violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act ("FLSA"), 29 U.S.C. § 201 et seq. (ECF No. 21.) They allege that New York City's Department of Homeless Services ("DHS") engaged in a number of illegal employment practices, including, inter alia, failing to compensate plaintiffs for hours they worked in addition to their scheduled shifts.
