Patricia Jepson filed a Chapter 7 voluntary petition in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois. That petition resulted in an automatic stay against the enforcement of any security interest. Bank of New York Mellon (“BNYM”) then requested a modifica tion of the automatic stay so that it could resume in Illinois state court an ongoing foreclosure action against Ms. Jepson.
