Defendant, Robert L. Brooks, was charged with murder. After a bench trial in the circuit court of Cook County, he was found guilty of that crime and was sentenced to a term of 14 to 100 years. On appeal, defendant contends that the trial court erred in not conducting a hearing to determine his fitness to stand trial; that the trial court erred in denying defendant’s motions to quash his arrest and suppress certain evidence; and that he was not proved guilty of murder beyond a reasonable doubt.
