Knox, J.

Peter Weaver, the plaintiff in error, was tried, found guilty, and sentenced, in the Court of Quarter Sessions of Crawford county, upon an indictment charging him, as the keeper of the common jail of Crawford county, with “ feloniously, unlawfully, voluntarily, and contemptuously” permitting the escape of three prisoners, committed to his custody, and charged respectively with the crimes of arson, counterfeiting, and larceny.
