This is an appeal by plaintiff from a judgment in favor of defendant upon a directed verdict. The controversy arose from the following facts:

In August, 1923, plaintiff, whose name was then Gertrude Burks, and her husband, William Burks, owed the defendant bank, according to her statement, $2,700, but, according to defendant’s contention, $2,800 plus accrued interest amounting to $75.50, represented by a note and real estate mortgage.
