This appeal brings up the judgment of the Bergen County Circuit Court in a contested election case. The contest, which is over the office of chosen freeholder for the township of Orvil, is confined to seventy-three ballots cast in the borough of Allendale, a voting district of said township. The claim of the contestant is that these seventy-three ballots were marked within the statutory proscription. If this contention is sustained the result of the election will admittedly be changed, hence the question presented for decision is whether…
