OPINION
The defendant, Thomas G. Inman, appeals the first-stage dismissal of his postconviction petition. The defendant was originally convicted in 1985 of one count each of murder and attempted murder. He was sentenced to natural life in prison for the murder and 30 years for the attempted murder, to be served concurrently.
