¶ 1 We are asked to reconcile whether the “Homestead Act,” “Redemption Act,” 2 and Condominium Act 3 together allow a condominium owner to possess a condominium without paying rent during the redemption period following a judicial foreclosure of a condominium assessment lien. Generally, if property qualifies as a homestead and is occupied for that purpose at the time of a forced sale, the judgment debtor has the right to retain possession during the redemption period with no obligation to pay for the value of occupation.
