John Davies, the plaintiff in error, (hereinafter referred to as the defendant,) was tried before a judge of the municipal court of Chicago without the intervention of a jury, on an information filed against him in that court charging him with the violation of section 2-A of an act revising the law relating to deadly weapons. (Smith’s Stat. 1933, chap. 38, p. 1021; Cahill’s Stat. 1933, chap. 38, par. 141, p. 1003.)
