Under recent Acts of the legislature a large área of new territory has been annexed to the city of Chicago, so as greatly to extend its boundaries. A portion of the highway known as the Milwaukee Road, upon which the toll-gate and toll-house in question are located, was outside of the city limits prior to such annexation, but thereafter, and by,reason of the enlargement-of the city, the portion in question was taken into the city and is now a part of the street called Milwaukee Avenue.
