This is an action to recover the amount of $2442.16, taxes paid under protest, and alleged to have been illegally collected by the tax-collector of the county of Glenn for state and county taxes. Certain solvent credits of the plaintiff were secured by liens on personal property. The assessor refused to make a reduction from such solvent credits of the amount of debts due from the bank to bona fine residents of the state.
