Introduction

This is an appeal by the defendant-appellant, Edward Eugene Collett, from a judg ment of conviction entered January 18, 1974, by which the appellant was sentenced by the court to the department of corrections for the offenses of robbery in the first degree by means of a dangerous and deadly weapon and assault with intent to do great bodily harm with malice. §§ 560.120, 559.-180, RSMo 1969.
