Testimony adduced at the suppression hearing established that at approximately 11:55 a.m. on November 17, 1994, as Police Officers Jose Vega and Joseph Vitello were driving in their marked patrol car on New Utrecht Avenue between 48th and 49th Streets in Brooklyn, they were flagged down by a man on the street. The man pointed across the street at the defendant, telling the officers: "[t]hat black kid over there has a gun. He displayed a gun”.
