Following a jury trial, defendant was convicted of two counts of armed robbery (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1985, ch. 38, par. 18 — 2(a)) and sentenced to natural life imprisonment as a habitual offender (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1985, ch. 38, par. 33B — 1).
