Plaintiffs, Martin and Kay Rohrer, appeal the finding of the Circuit Court of Ogle County that the contract they entered into with the defendants, Vincent and Carol Traína, was void as a wager contract and therefore unenforceable.
On August 6, 1973, plaintiffs and defendants entered into a written contract concerning cattle owned by plaintiffs which provided, in part:
“Dr. Traína guarantees to Mr. Rohrer a price of 0.65 cents (sixty-five cents) per pound under hoof on or about March 1st, 1974 for more or less 120 heads of cattle owned by Mr. Rohrer. If the price of beef at that particular time…
