Plaintiffs, who are liquidating commissioners, sue as *1518holders and owners of a promissory note, of which the following is' a copy, to-wit:
“Parish of Assumption, La., June 23, 1893.
“On the fifteenth of February, next, 1894, I promise to pay to the “ order of Wm. W. Pugh, agent and attorney in fact of Mrs. Mary E. “ Flower, Dr. Thomas B. Pugh, Lawrence IT. Pugh, Edward N.
