I. INTRODUCTION

Plaintiff Frank Zavaro, a prisoner currently incarcerated at a New York State *86correctional facility, brought1 this action pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 1983, alleging that his due process rights were violated when he was punished pursuant to a disciplinary hearing in which the prison hearing officer impermissibly relied on the uncorroborated testimony of confidential informers.
