Appellant, Jon Benoit Guilbeau, pleaded not guilty to murder, and a jury convicted appellant, assessed punishment at 45 years’ imprisonment, and imposed a fine of $10,000. Appellant contends the trial court erred in (1) failing to instruct the jury on the use of deadly force in self-defense, (2) admitting evidence of extraneous offenses, (3) refusing to provide the jury with an instruction to disregard the extraneous offenses after denying the instruction on self-defense, and (4) failing to instruct the jury on sudden passion at the punishment phase of…
