Jonathan Dawkins, appellant, was indicted on one count each of carrying a pistol without a license, in violation of D.C.Code § 22-4504(a) (2001); possession of an unregistered firearm, in violation of D.C.Code § 7-2502.01 (Supp.2009); and (3) unlawful possession of ammunition, in violation of D.C.Code § 7-2506.01(3), in connection with his possession of a loaded gun. Dawkins pled guilty to all charges but reserved the right to appeal the trial court’s denial of his motion to suppress the gun.
