In the fall of 19391 Mr. and Mrs. Steve McNair procured plans and specifications for the erection of a residence some four miles from Clarksdale, in Coahoma County. They invited bids for the construction of the residence in accordance with those plans .and specifications. They considered all bids too high. They had the plans revised, and again asked for bids according to the revised plans. Mr. H. B. Dunn was the lowest bidder. He was awarded the contract. It was written and dated November 8, 1939.
