HULL, J.

A jury found defendant guilty of three counts of unlawful possession of a weapon while in state prison. (Pen. Code, § 4502, subd. (a); further section references are to the Penal Code unless designated otherwise.) The trial court imposed the middle term of three years on one of the counts, plus a consecutive one-third the middle term, or one year, on each of the other two counts for a total of five years in state prison.
