The defendant appeals his convictions of attempted murder and first degree assault after a jury trial in the Superior Court (Gray, J.). He contends that the trial court impermissibly amended the indictment charging “attempted first degree murder” by instructing the jury on generic attempted murder. The defendant also contends that the trial court erred by allowing the prosecutor to assert in his closing argument that proof of premeditation was unnecessary.
