This action was brought by the plaintiffs to restrain the sale of their lands for taxes. The *400lauds in question are situated in several tracts wbicb were adjacent to the city of Eacine previous to March 6th, 1856, an(j which the appellant claims to have been annexed to the city by an act approved on that day. The plaintiffs object to the legality of the taxes assessed by the city upon these lands, first, because the act was unconstitutional and wholly inoperative; and second, for several other reasons not inconsistent with the validity of the act.
