Prior to 1887 W. C. Murrell was the owner of the northeast quarter *1049of the southwest quarter of section 25, township 21 north, range 8 west. In that year, he sold to John White colored, “three acres square in the southeast corner of the northeast quarter of the southwest quarter, section 25, township 21 north, range 8 west,” for the price of $9; and in 1904 the said Murrell sold the whole of said 40 acres, including the small area just described, to F. T. and J. H. King, for $500.
